I have known Denis Moreen for more than ten years. He has served as accompanist, composer, tour manager and program manager for Ragazzi Boys Chorus. To all these varied tasks, Denis brings the utmost professionalism along with an engaging enthusiasm. He is the most thorough person I have every worked with and he is also the most consistently cooperative and cheerful. We have traveled together throughout Europe and to Japan and have met with many trying circumstances on these tours. Even when presented with a less than adequate piano in some rural venue, Denis has made the situation a success.
Musically, Denis can be counted on to play accurately with virtuosity in a wide variety of styles, from classical to popular. He is an amazing sight reader which has counted in the many times he served as an accompanist for singers auditioning for honor choirs or other contests. In these situations, he is often simply handed the music to read on the spot. His love of music is infectious and communicates itself to the musicians lucky enough to be performing with him. He is supportive and, for conductors and those he accompanies, is an excellent follower. While he is capable of offering valuable and helpful suggestions, he will never intrude without being requested to give advice.
Denis is very responsible and will initiate responsibility for knowing times and dates of rehearsals and performances.
It is almost unbelievable that someone can be all these things: an outstanding musician, a super-organized and responsible person and a cheerful colleague, but that is Denis Moreen. I recommend him to you with highest regards.
